Recycled Re-milled French Oak ParquetryThis project called for our beautiful Recycled Re-milled French Oak, up to 220 years old,

for this amazing old building in the original textile factories precinct of Abbotsford, just a stone’s throw from Collingwood AFL club’s spiritual home ground, Victoria Park.

The building started its life as a shoe factory in Melbourne’s bourgeoning textiles industry, in the days of horse and cart, circa 1890. The renovation project definitely required an authentic floor, with a story of its own, to compliment the exposed beams and rafters, face brick walls, narrow windows and vaulted ceiling.

The Parquetry was milled from original French Oak post and beam materials, French Oak Australasia carefully from industrial buildings in central France, re-milled by local craftsmen, and wrapped and packed for our Client’s order.

The French Oak was installed over newly laid ply, in a double Herringbone pattern, and finished in 2 coats of natural tone, low sheen hard wax oil. Installer details available for Victorian Clients.
