The Parquetry pieces have many wonderful features; char marks, burgundy hues, and all the French Oak grain, rays and patina one would expect from beautiful French Oak.

We have a new and exciting source of GENUINE solid French Oak, 100% grown, sourced, milled and kiln dried in France! Our standard size is a beautiful wide board, 195mm x 20mm, with lengths from 1.6m to 2.4m with lengths from 1.5m to 2.5m. There is also available, long lengths from 3.0m to 4.1m, at pro rata costing..

The natural patina, grain and texture of this French Oak is so beautiful, the Installers and Colouring Craftsmen who work with on projects can’t get enough of it. Our Kiln Dried French Oak is Rustic Grade (Europe Sawn Timber Grading), or equivalent to Feature Grade (Australian Timber Grading). It will have a range of knots, grain, rays and other features, which is all part of the charm and patina that is French Oak. After these barrels are carefully dismantled, the staves are sawn into straight sections, kiln dried, and milled into parquetry. The unique beauty of this product is derived from the red wine and brandy tannins that are still evident. Character marks and a subtle aroma add to the charm of this extraordinary floor.

This product is suitable for a Herringbone, Chevron, or Versailles parquetry design.

Authentic Collection
The Authentic Collection is built on Europe’s past and present use of local (European) oak. It gets to the core of what is now the mainstay of European wood flooring. It was the wood in barns that first aged and darkened in reaction to the livestock living inside. The same natural process is reached by what we now call ‘smoking’. Whitewashing with lime started as a way to brighten and give barns a ‘clean’ and even look. Today we use different combinations of these genuine processes to create the honest flooring in the Authentic Collection.

New American Walnut Flooring

New Walnut
French Oak Australasia can supply American Walnut floorboards either raw or pre-finished. Pre-­finished boards are coloured by hand and put through a high-­tech finishing process in which boards are sealed, coated, and dried using UV light. The boards are then sanded back to increasingly finer levels and re-­finished.   This process is completed seven times producing a low-­sheen, extremely hard wearing surface that is highly scratch resistant and requires minimal maintenance.

Reclaimed Wagon Boards

French Oak Wagon Boards
Reclaimed French Oak Wagon Boards
French oak railway wagon boards, partially finished as a great step towards easy re-use. We saw them down to approx 2cm thick, retaining the surface with worn patina. This surface is then mechanically brushed and burnished, with typical marks, knocks and even burns therefore attenuated into characteristic “worn” features. Typical board dimensions approx: length 2.6 metres (8ft 6 inches) x widths 15cm to 17cm (6 to 6.75 inches). Also re-used for partitioning and wall cladding. A shop fitters’ favorite too, as shown on these photos in a major Paris fashion store.
